With a successful career spanning over two decades in design studios across California and Sydney, Melanie Tomlinson Design was formed in Berkshire 2018 bringing inspired design through unique international influence.

With a background in architectural drafting, Melanie Tomlinson, director and lead interior designer, can bring technical expertise to every stage of a project achieving the very best outcomes of space, light and interior architecture and design.

Step 1.

Initial Consultation.

An informal session where we can understand the form and function of your home or space, identifying essential focus areas and an opportunity to share your aspirations for the project.

A chance to gain clarity on desired outcomes, budget, timeframe and your appetite for creative risk taking.

An outline proposal will follow detailing our interpretation of the brief and our design fees.

Step 2.

Concept Design.

The moment to discuss and explore design requirements, space use and desired aesthetics for interior architecture and design.

Spatial planning sketches and drawings will be shown alongside colour concepts to allow you to visualise possibilities, structural variations and proposed finishes including furniture.

Priding ourselves on client relationships, this is when open and honest discussions take place to get the best outcomes.

Step 3.

Design Development.

The moment when interior design comes to fruition.

Following approval of the concept design, design development encompasses fundamentals of the final design from product selection to essential detail of fixtures, material samples and curated furniture to ensure you feel and experience the vision for your home.

All relevant information is prepared, the team and contractors assembled where required, and a fully itemised breakdown of costs provided in line with the budget.

Step 4.

Finishing touches.

Melanie Tomlinson Design offers a full management service from concept to completion, so are on hand every step of the way.

Regular site visits, seamless integration of professional services through to meticulous quality control and assurance ensure our high standards are being met and complete peace of mind for our clients.
